1964 Sindy Sweet Swimmer Outfit

click for larger image

"Sweet Swimmer" from 1964 comprises a blue swimsuit with white trim (which could also double up as a leotard), and white plastic sandals.

This is a genuine Sindy outfit.

One side seam of the swimsuit needs a couple of stitches, otherwise in excellent condition.

£8
Sindy Red/White Checked Top

click for larger image

Red and white checked cotton blouse/jacket in excellent condition. This is a genuine Sindy outfit from the early to mid 1960s.

£8
Sindy Leather Looker Skirt

click for larger image

The skirt is in orangey-red leatherette, with shoulder straps. It has slight ink marks on the back, which I haven't tried to remove. This skirt doesn't have a label, but I believe it's the Sindy "Leather Looker" skirt from 1963

£10
Sindy 1960s Duffle Coat

click for larger image

Winter is here, so keep Sindy cosy in this cute little tan duffle coat.

One toggle is missing from the front, but it could easily be replaced by one of the identical sleeve toggles.

Apart from the missing toggle, the coat is in excellent condition.

£5
Typewriter and Tape Recorder

click for larger image

I think these are Sindy accessories, as they were with a collection of Sindy dolls and clothes.  Typewriter measures approximately 1.25" x 1.25" (3cm x 3cm) and tape recorder approximately 1" x 0.75" (2.5cm x 2cm)

£45
Skipper Doll with Box

click for larger image

Blonde Skipper doll from 1964. Stamp on doll's bottom reads Skipper (c)1963 Mattel Inc. Doll is in nice solid condition, with legs and arms firmly attached. Paint on eyes may be a little rubbed.

Skipper is dressed in a blue sweater and trousers, with white flat shoes marked "Japan" on the soles, which is part of the outfit "Outdoor Casuals" from 1965/66.

Box measures approximately 10" x 3" x 1.75" deep (25cm x 7cm x 4.5cm deep). The box isn't in great condition - it has had tape round most of the edges at some point, and has two small holes punched in the top. It's pretty scruffy, but it is still fairly solid, and the boxes don't turn up all that often.

£40
Skipper Real Sporty

click for larger image

This is Skipper outfit #1961, "Real Sporty" from 1968.

This outfit is in excellent condition, with only very minor defects, as noted below.

Yellow linen jacket with pink buttons and pink contrast stitching. Fastens with hook and loop fastenings, and it looks as though one hook is missing.

Mini one-piece jumpsuit/culottes in yellow linen with pink contrast stitching and pink plastic chain link belt. Tiny pink button at back - looks as though there maybe should have been a thread loop to go around this, which isn't there now.

Hot pink lacy tights with elasticated waist.

Hot pink ankle boots - marked "Japan" on soles.

£15
Skipper Velvet Blush

click for larger image

This dress is from the 1970 Skipper outfit #1737 "Velvet Blush".

Red velvet dress with white collar, cuffs, and belt. Fastens with two snap fasteners at back. In excellent condition.

I've included white lacy tights which I believe are part of this outfit. However, they have split down one seam, but could probably be repaired by someone who's handy with a sewing needle.

£42
Barbie Check the Suit

click for larger image

This outfit is "Check the Suit" #1794 from 1970.

It consists of yellow and hot pink check trousers and jacket, yellow sleeveless top, and high heel Pilgrim shoes.

All items are in excellent condition. The trousers and jacket are of a heavy woollen material. The trousers have a yellow vinyl trim at the waistband, and fasten with a snap fastener. The jacket features four tiny bead "buttons", and fastens with two snap fasteners. The sleeveless top is of a jersey type material, and fastens at the back with two snap fasteners.

£38
Barbie Mood Matchers

click for larger image

This is Mood Matchers outfit #1792 from 1970.

The outfit is in excellent condition. Wide leg trousers fasten at waist with snap fastener. Long-sleeved blouse top fastens at back of neck with snap fastener. Tunic/dress fastens at back of neck with snap fastener. Blue high-heeled shoes.

Also included is a wide blue vinyl belt with buckle fastening, which I came across after I had photographed the rest of the outfit.

£12
Barbie Shape Ups Outfit

click for larger image

This is from Barbie outfit #1782 Shape Ups from 1970.

Red long-sleeved leotard - has a couple of small stains on the sleeves, but no damage to seams or the fabric of the leotard.

Red nylon tights - these sadly have a split about 2" long from the waistband to the top of one leg (not at a seam). This could probably be repaired and would mostly be hidden under the leotard.

Red low-heeled plastic shoes - in excellent condition.

Dumb-bells and elastic stretch rope - in excellent condition.

£18
Barbie Tropicana

click for larger image

This is Barbie outfit #1460, Tropicana from 1967.

In excellent condition.

Linen-effect sleeveless shift dress in yellow, orange and white, with chevron design and white daisy on bodice. Centre back YKK zipper.

High-heeled orange shoes with pointed toes.

Very 1960s!

£10
1960s Coat, Dress, and Pinafore

click for larger image

Dating from the 1960s, these outfits are home-made, but look as though they are from a ready-to-sew kit.  Suitable for Sindy, Barbie, Tressy, etc.

Blue, pink and yellow shift dress has a matching loose fitting coat.  Also included is a pinafore-style dress with daisy pattern.  This is open at the back, with a stud fastener at the top.  Or could be worn open at the front, as a sleeveless coat.

£10
1960s Selection of Clothes

£10
1963 Sindy Summery Days Dress

click for larger image

Short-sleeved checked cotton dress for Sindy doll. This dress doesn't have a label/tag, but it is undoubtedly the Summery Days dress issued in 1963.

Fastens at back with two snap fasteners. One side seam is split (about 0.5") and needs restitched. Dress is otherwise in excellent condition.

£65

Sindy Meets the Dollybeats

click for larger image

click for image of back of sleeve

Sindy, made by Pedigree Dolls, was the UK's equivalent of Barbie in the 1960s. This 45rpm single was released in the mid 1960s. Side 1 tells the story of how Sindy met the fictional band "The Dollybeats" (who seem to have been based on The Beatles), when they played a concert in her home town, Side 2 is the Dollybeats singing "Sindy".

An unusual item for the Sindy doll collector.
